Mara Vell

Mara Vell writes in the kitchen and records in whatever room has the best echo that week. Her songs are short, plain and hard to shake: a guitar turned down low, a voice, and sometimes a cello that arrives late.

We met her at an open mic in 2021 and asked for a demo the same night. Paper Weather, her first album, was recorded live in four days and pressed on clear vinyl. Slow Fire is the follow-up EP, darker and closer to the microphone.
